Revered nuclear safety advocate Dan Hirsch dies (Camarillo Acorn)

“Hirsch, former director of the Pro­gram on Environmental and Nuclear Policy at UC Santa Cruz devoted more than four decades to holding government agencies and corporations accountable for toxic and radioactive contamination at sites across the country, from the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco to the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. But he is perhaps best known locally for his unyielding fight to force a full cleanup of the SSFL.”
